Men fail to deal with the issues that matter
I believe his rationale that women are “less willing than men to take on responsibility” misrepresents their place in society.
On the contrary, I think women (besides their duty to raise children and, along with their husbands, to be good parents) are becoming increasingly important in Irish politics.
For sure, the men have not done such a good job when it comes to domestic issues (education, housing, health), so maybe with women becoming more involved, Ireland will become something of a role model when it comes to gender equality.
Who knows, women may one day come up with a cure for the world’s most devastating ailment — war.
It’s worth giving them a chance because up to now men have done a poor job of keeping the peace.
