Dotty roundaboutsand hidden road signs

RECENTLY I took some time to tour around part of the country by car.

Certain aspects or our road system proved very interesting.

lThe virtual roundabout. You can get two penalty points if you don’t turn left on entering it. Fair enough if you can find it. In some cases there is an advance warning sign, but when you reach the junction the actual roundabout consists of a dot on the ground which may have started life white and visible but is now grey and blends perfectly with the road surface. In a few cases there was no sign. Locals might know the dot was there, but pity the poor stranger.
