Political posters show disregard for resources

EVEN at my tender age of 13 years, I have developed an interest in national politics and pride myself in being able to differentiate between the various parties and will, in the fullness of time, exercise my hard-fought right to vote.

However, it is with no small degree of disappointment and disgust that I view my countryside festooned with poster after poster of every budding politician. Whatever their credentials, surely none of them has licence to stick their poster on every conceivable pole and tree?

How many trees have died to produce these posters? Is this one of the prices we pay for democracy?
