Tara shows what FF thinks of our heritage

ANYONE who has visited Tara knows there is no explanation for its location except for the magnificent view of the surrounding plain.

Tara shows what FF thinks of our heritage

Without that view, Tara is simply not Tara.

The next time you hear a Fianna Fáil politician prattling about valuing our heritage, just think what they are planning to do with that view because it shows how little they really value our real heritage.

The next time you see Bertie wrapping himself in the flag at Croke Park, think of the fate of Tara, 2,000 years older than the GAA, Fianna Fáil or the GPO.

If this were a normal country, we might believe the great and the good when they tell us there is no alternative to the Tara route.

But the tribunals have shaken our innocent belief in the whole area of planning.

From letters like Gary Dunne’s (Irish Examiner, April 19), it seems there is more concern about the issue within the Irish diaspora than there is here at home.

What does that say about us?
