Toys top list of dangerous products in EU

FOR the first time, toys have topped the list of dangerous consumer goods removed from shop shelves in the EU.

Almost a quarter of the complaints received by the EU-wide RAPEX rapid alert system last year were about toys, most of which came from China.

The biggest complaint was that toys could choke or suffocate children, according to the annual report on dangerous consumer products.
