Worrying stance by nurses and consultants

AS I, along with family and friends, await appointments in various hospital departments, I am growing increasingly frustrated with the attitude of nurses and consultants.

The people are not fools and will only blame the Government for so much, and rightly so where blame is due. We know that more money has been pumped into the health service in recent years than ever before, but where has it gone?

Recent developments such as nurses refusing to work and consultants refusing to improve public waiting lists are very worrying. We all have issues with our jobs, but if we have a problem we don’t put people’s lives at risk to try to resolve them.

Those who enter the medical profession under any guise should know it is not just a job, but a vocation. As with any vocation, sacrifices will have to be made from time to time. If they can’t handle that, the should get another job. Otherwise get back to work and start saving lives instead of putting them in danger.
