Out of touch

I WAS interested to read about Don Murphy’s various attempts to contact Fianna Fáil on the issue of stamp duty — all of which were ignored (Irish Examiner letters, March 28).

Out of touch

That he should be treated with such contempt is extraordinary, but not surprising considering the comments of the Housing Minister Noel Ahern, who said recently that stamp duty was “not a fundamental issue for a lot of people”.

When the housing minister is so out of touch with reality, it’s not surprising Mr Murphy was ignored.
