Rear gunner’s fatal mission recalled

I AM researching the loss of Lancaster bomber ME453 of 467 squadron, Royal Australian Air Force, and all the crew, over Germany on the night of March 3, 1945.

Rear gunner’s fatal mission recalled

The rear gunner was Thomas Edward Drennan, aged 22, son of Edward and Mary Drennan of Cork. He volunteered for the Royal Air Force in September 1943 in Northern Ireland. I have detailed information about his squadron, aircraft and the circumstances, location and time of the aircraft’s loss, all of which I would be happy to share with any interested family members. I visited the crew’s graves at the Reichswald war cemetery in Germany in August 2005.

I am interested in tracing any surviving family or friends who may be able to assist with my research on Thomas Drennan.
