Put up or shut up

TIME and time again, Sinn Féin and the IRA have offered concessions in the interest of providing for peace and devolved government in Northern Ireland, and time and time again Ian Paisley and the DUP have rejected them as insufficient, and demanded more.

Put up or shut up

No provision of any of the Northern Irish agreements specifies that Mr Paisley is the final judge of what is and is not sufficient and acceptable in the North, and if he and the DUP do not wish to take the parliament seats to which they have been elected, they should vacate their seats in favour of people who are willing to do so.
