Flight of the “earls” who keep coming back

BERTIE AHERN recently commemorated the flight of the earls, an event that left ordinary Irish people without their leaders who left and never came back.

Every year, our “leaders” re-enact a modern version of their flight, to advertise Ireland abroad on St Patrick’s Day. Unfortunately they do come back.

When abroad, these earls should be questioned about their cultural vandalism at Tara. And like the snakes banished by Patrick, they should slither away forever.
