‘Treatment’ is torture

AS a psychiatric survivor, I endorse Sean Fleming’s letter (The Irish Examiner, March 2).

Yes, it is torture if someone has to endure a medical treatment she/he finds harmful. These practices are performed in psychiatric hospitals all over the world and it has to stop.

I have friends who live in fear of incarceration, and recovery is very difficult when one lives in fear. Fear is to emotional and mental health as pain is to physical health.
