Nuclear energy must be rejected on various grounds
The scientists who wrote to you (Irish Examiner letters, February 13) accept it, but it’s a pity they advocate a role for nuclear energy as part of the solution.
At a lecture in UCC recently, one of them, Philip Walton, claimed nuclear electricity was cheapest to produce. Of course, even eminent professors can prove something is cheapest by ignoring some of the main cost factors.
