Question of trust

I WELCOME Albert Reynolds’s criticism of Bertie Ahern for accepting loans from friends and payments for speaking at a function in Manchester.

This whole affair has seriously damaged public trust in politicians and the Fianna Fáil organisation should now follow its former leader’s example and condemn Ahern’s acceptance of these payments.

Polls have shown the majority of people believe the Taoiseach was wrong and this should be acknowledged publicly by Fianna Fáil ministers and all their public representatives.
