Stroke treatment - Crisis of neglect leads to deaths
The stark reality is that some 2,000 stroke victims are dying needlessly in Ireland every year because they do not receive the level of care they need.
That’s the inescapable conclusion to be drawn from research conducted by a consultant neurologist who has turned a spotlight on the glaring underdevelopment of stroke services in this country. Stroke is a major killer and a significant cause of severe disability in Ireland today.
