Excellent series

THANK you for the excellent series of articles on domestic abuse recently. They were informative, comprehensive and balanced.

It was also refreshing to have male victims included as they are so often forgotten or excluded.

Here in Cork University Hospital we have a gender-neutral policy, and when training staff on how to deal with domestic abuse, we try to make them aware that men can also be victims. Sadly, in my opinion, it is much more difficult for men to disclose as they fear they won’t be believed.

Your series will help raise awareness among the general public and may encourage someone to ‘break the silence’ and ask for help.
