EU committee snatches Shannon veil from the nod-and-wink Aherns

I’M not sure which is the greater indignity: that Shannon is used for so-called rendition flights, or that we have a Government prepared to tell the world it believes the Bush administration when it says they don’t happen.

Let’s face it, even the Yanks don’t believe their president on the Iraq war, and the recent elections there prove that.

Furious with the EU draft report which indicted Ireland because of its nod-and-wink policy that allows the CIA use Shannon airport as an unofficial jail stop, the Government is still in denial.
