Gas price system only encourages waste

BÓRD Gais should be forced to revise its pricing system which rewards consumers for using as much gas as possible.

The more they use, the less per unit they pay. They can even be charged for gas which they have not used. This only encourages waste.

While this policy suits the company, it is in fact absurd because most of the gas has to be imported now and climate change is a major concern.

Bórd Gais should be required to introduce low supply and high usage charges which would be the same for everyone.
