Only a fool would believe Bertie now

THE Taoiseach recently pronounced something to the effect that if we dared to change the government at the next election, we would face economic ruin.

Only a fool would believe Bertie now

Some time ago we heard him say that his obtaining payments from private individuals while he held public office was none of our business.

When that tactic failed, he (or someone on his behalf) assured us that receiving gifts of money from people while holding public office was ‘not incorrect’.

Before that he said he was a socialist. Contrary to the conclusions of an official commission on the subject, he declared recently that the proposed e-voting system was suitable and the paper and pencil system was ‘a laughing stock’.

Am I the only one who thinks all of these statements are untrue? I have no connection with any political party, but I do object to being taken for a fool by the most powerful politician in the country.
