Gaelic football and Aussie Rules don’t mix

I AM encouraged by the views being expressed that the Australia/Ireland International Rules series should be discontinued. I have been in Australia for more than 40 years, but I have never warmed to Aussie Rules.

Gaelic football and Aussie Rules don’t mix

This game depends so much on being able to tackle, push and shove that it seems to me they would be better to dispose of the ball altogether.

I hope the Irish stick to the round ball game as well as the tactics and strategies; there is no need to bring the physical aggression into it.

OK, no more overseas trips. So what? You have a far better product.

Keep playing it. Gaelic football and Aussie Rules will always be poles apart and the philosophies behind them are incompatible.

Chess is an excellent game, but it doesn’t need to be combined with wrestling to make it better.
