Restrict immigrants to 10% of population

YOUR report (November 1) on a recent poll that showed approximately half of the respondents expressed worries about future levels of immigration.

In this context, it may be of interest to your readers that a motion was passed at the recent AGM of Immigration Control Platform calling for a referendum to amend the constitution as follows:

“The Government shall ensure through legislation, policies and planning that the percentage of foreign residents shall not exceed 10% of the population” — as shown by the census of 2006.

This amendment would allow for recognition of EU treaty agreements.
