Voters give their verdict on pompous journalists

JOURNALIST and broadcaster Matt Cooper seems a little miffed that the media frenzy generated by him and his colleagues has had little effect on the popularity of Bertie Ahern (Irish Examiner, November 14).

Voters give their verdict on pompous journalists

He even suggests that we voters disengaged our collective intellect in his attempt to explain the Government’s rise in popularity in the most recent poll.

Wrong, Matt.

Our intellect was very much switched on and we decided to stick one to the pompous, self-important journalists who feel it is within their gift to bring about a change of government.

Matt Cooper would do well to engage his own intellect before insulting the voting public with his dumbed-down version of his profession, both in print and on the airwaves.

Remember, Matt, the people will decide, not the media.
