Queuing at the ATM

I WISH to respond to those who replied to my letter (Irish Examiner, September 7) about customers taking too long at ATMs.

Of course I have patience with anyone who finds it difficult to use the machine because of old age, poor sight, etc.

I was not being critical of such people. I was protesting against being held up in the queue by people who are just incompetent. And I didn’t complain because I was busy — I don’t want to spend 10 minutes in a queue just because someone doesn’t know how to operate the machine.
