More than one faith left a legacy of violence

WHY is there such furore over the recent speech by Pope Benedict XV1 in which he referred to remarks from Emperor Manual II Paleologos of Byzantine.

More than one faith left a legacy of violence

The quotation from the Byzantine king ran: “Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”

Surely these remarks are a timely reminder of the ecclesiastically approved and inspired evil fruits of murder, crusades, hatred and division which have been falling not only from the tree of Islam founded by Muhammad in Saudi Arabia in the seventh century but also from the tree of Christianity founded by Paul in Antioch in Syria in the first century.

“By their fruits you will know them.”
