Something desperate about Eddie’s campaign

NEVER one to avoid publicity, Eddie Hobbs is now campaigning allegedly on behalf of the consumer for Dunnes Stores to lower prices in line with recent reductions by Tesco.

He and others successfully put pressure on the Government to abolish the groceries order.

But his latest campaign smacks of desperation in his attempt to influence the effect of the abolition of the order.

With his campaign to get shoppers to switch to Tesco, I’m glad I am not a Dunnes’ employee.

Mr Hobbs should remember also that the order has a knock-on effect on local suppliers and shops nationwide.

It is not solely about the big two retailers in the market.
