Spire should have a patriotic base

I BELIEVE the Spire in O’Connell Street in Dublin would be enhanced by a top quality Irish granite base built around it — 4m long by 4m wide by 4m high.

Of course, more suitable dimensions could be chosen if desired.

This granite base could consist of large, interlocking rectangular blocks whose outer faces would be highly polished to make the inevitable graffiti easier to remove.
