Now it’s not the weather that’s a freak — it’s the pitch. Given the forecast, don’t be surprised if tomorrow’s hurling final between Cork and Kilkenny is more like an ice hockey game and the clichè ‘putting your body in the way’ could acquire a dangerously new meaning.

The GAA literally needs to get its house in order before someone loses an eye — or worse.
