Israel’s response to years of torment

FINTAN LANE’S letter (Irish Examiner, August 21) taking Israel to task for the “mass murder of more than 1,000 men, women and children” points up his disregard for the terrorist Hezbollah and Hamas random suicide bombings, random rocket attacks and kidnappings plaguing Israel for years.

Israel’s response to years of torment

The actions taken by Israel are indeed a culmination of years of torment and are quite appropriate since the terrorists hide among their citizens without regard for human life and therefore Israel had no recourse but to go after these murderers.

I am not part of any Israeli lobby and I must say to Mr Lane and members of Anti-War Ireland, in the famous words of Lennon and McCartney: “Try to see it my way. We can work it out”.
