Pushy pensioners

THE world is a dangerous place. Our mortality is discernible with every step we take and danger lurks around every corner.

But if you really want to take a walk in the shadow of the valley of death, try getting on a bus in Dublin city centre with a few pensioners behind you. They are more than willing to mow down anyone in their path.

The other day, an old women elbowed me in the ribs, her head lowered in a posture of grim determination as she advanced towards the bus. You see, the senior citizens of today have no respect for their ‘youngers. I hate to say it, but old age is wasted on the elderly.
