Deadly accurate

FINTAN LANE (Irish Examiner letters, August 8) cites 1,000 civilian casualties in Lebanon, mostly resulting from nearly 3,000 sorties by the Israeli air force.

Such an astonishingly low figure is a tribute to the care and accuracy of the bombing.

This is in contrast to the US carpet bombing of Afghanistan where enormous casualties resulted in a few days.

Does Hezbollah take similar care when launching its rockets?
