The vast majority of people will applaud the newfound sense of commitment now evident within the force as it pursues the objective of reducing the bloody carnage which is inflicting such a dreadful toll on families and communities up and down the country.

Not a weekend passes without banner headlines following horrific fatalities which should not have happened. There can be no doubt much of the blame for the ongoing crisis stems from the inexcusable failure of Government to ensure that measures put in place to make our roads safer for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists alike, were not robustly enforced.
