The Irish Government has been outspoken in its condemnation of the campaign in the Lebanon from the outset, by demanding an immediate ceasefire.

“We want action not words,” Foreign Minister Dermot Ahern declared yesterday. He has been calling on those who have influence on Israel and on those countries that have been backing Hezbollah to use their influence to stop the lunacy.
