A man’s got to go ...

A FEW days ago in Dublin, I struck a blow for Cork people everywhere. “Why,” I asked, buttonholing the nearest Iarnród Éireann employee, “do you have to pay to use the toilets at Heuston Station but not at Connolly [in Cork]? Is this another example of Iarnród Éireann taking the piss out of Cork people?”

A man’s got to go ...

Fixing me with a jaundiced eye, he replied: “Cork people, you’re a nation apart.” At least, that’s what it sounded like.

Not good enough.

I am now asking Iarnród Éireann to issue an official statement to the effect that this discrimination against Cork people will stop. An official statement, please — no leaks.
