The real victims

IN reporting ‘Orange Day’ (Irish Examiner, July 13), you quote Rev Ian Paisley as saying, at an Independent Orange Order demonstration in Portrush, it would be “over our dead bodies” that his party, the DUP, would enter into a power-sharing executive with Sinn Féin.

The real victims

Sadly, it is not the bodies of Dr Paisley or his fellow power-sharing rejectionists in the DUP, but the bodies of young Catholic teenagers like Michael McIlveen and Thomas Devlin who pay the price for the sectarian rhetoric that’s so prominent every July 12.
