GAA puts fans in a tight squeeze

THE GAA’S decision to fix two of the All-Ireland hurling quarter finals for Thurles next Saturday defies all logic.

Four of the counties with the greatest support are being asked to split 50,000 tickets between them. After corporate allocations and special interest groups, each of the participating county boards will be left with a paltry 10,000-12,000 tickets.

Cork alone would bring between 25,000-30,000 supporters for their game with Limerick.
