I WISH to express my support for Dr Steven King on his excellent analysis of the Arab/Israeli conflict (Irish Examiner, July 5).

Columnist’s case was not answered

But it was sad to see the negative responses of Jonathan Sugarman (Irish Examiner letters, July 8) and Jack Downey (July 10).

They made no counter-arguments against the well-constructed views of Dr King, but instead trotted out the usual propaganda about the anti-Israel UN, Rachel Corrie (who threw herself in front of the bulldozer) and the usual character assassination of those with whom they may disagree. Could these people not have argued the points Dr King made? No. Why? Because what Dr King said made perfect sense.
