Minister and IFA chief putting on a show

COULD the Minister for Agriculture and the president of the IFA refrain from their desire to frolic in public? (Irish Examiner Farming cover photo, June 29).

Minister and IFA chief putting on a show

Farmers expect a little more tact from their two major representatives. Padraig Walshe certainly has his two hands full holding up the minister. My advice to him would be to hold on tight — don’t let her drop as she could make a run for it, leaving him empty-handed. Farmers cannot take any more of putting on a show.

Their real need is for strong, responsible negotiators to keep Irish agriculture afloat.
