TOTP tunes out

IT was with great sadness that I heard that the BBC is axing Top of the Pops after 42 years on air.

Many of us grew up with the programme. Certainly, I have many very fond memories of seeing some of the best artists of their time on it: The Clash, Madness, The Police, Adam and the Ants, David Bowie and U2. Some viewers would remember the likes of the Boomtown Rats during the punk rock explosion of the late 1970s while the 1960s generation would have enjoyed seeing Pink Floyd, The Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

Top of the Pops will be sadly missed!
