Terry Prone got it right about the 1970s and 1980s

WELL done to Terry Prone (Irish Examiner, June 19) for exposing some of those arrogant women on the PR social circuit in the ’70s and ’80s.

While Mary Kenny and her coterie of female writers in the Irish Press shone above the rest at the time, others were ‘freebie junkies’.

As a young photographer, I had the misfortune to encounter some of these purveyors of the suburban mores of the time, with their tabloid values, in the days before we printed ‘Irish’ editions!
