President and Taoiseach should take pay cut

AS someone who gets by on what Bertie spends weekly on make-up, I am appalled at the disproportionately high salaries paid to our President and Taoiseach — the highest in the EU.

Both like to represent themselves as being of the people.

They should prove it by taking a voluntary pay cut or forego future increases until their incomes are in line with those of other leaders in EU countries of similar size and population.
