Worship in Berlin

YOUR Arena supplement on the World Cup (Irish Examiner, June 7) was very interesting.

Worship in Berlin

As I live in Berlin, I read your piece on the city with special interest. For readers intending to travel to the city I just wish to point out that the Berliner Dom (www.berliner-dom.de) does not celebrate Mass. A Protestant place of worship, the Berliner Dom is a landmark well worth a visit for its architectural beauty and historical interest — the kings Friedrich I and Friedrich Wilhelm II were laid to rest here.

Visitors to Berlin who wish to visit a Catholic church can do so at St Hedwig’s Cathedral, only a stone’s throw away from the Dom at Hinter der Katholischen Kirche 3. The cathedral has a website at www.hedwigs-kathedrale.de.
