Target audience

WHILE I have not seen Ken Loach’s The Wind that Shakes the Barley, I can bet that, like similar films previously, it is aimed at a certain audience mostly of the nationalist Irish/American type.

Target audience

I am virtually certain also that since it deals with events in Cork/Kerry region, it does not include sectarian ethnic cleansing of Protestants in west Cork then.

Coincidentally, I am reading Peter Hart’s book on the matter, The IRA and its Enemies.

The events he describes echo what went on in border areas like Co Fermanagh during the dirty 30-year war in recent times, as outlined by Prof Henry Patterson recently when he questioned the motives for IRA murders there.
