I THINK there’s a large hole in Gordon Kennedy’s argument (Irish Examiner letters, May 22) that an IRA hunger striker was not a criminal just because he got 30,000 votes in an election.

Hitler, Arafat, Sharon, Bush and many more, got far more than 30,000 votes, but still they were (are) war criminals.
