Death of a baby

IN HER letter (Irish Examiner, May 9), YK says ‘opponents of abortion should ask themselves whether a mother leaving a full-term baby “to die in secret is better than a medical procedure in a safe environment”’.

Apart from the fact that the effect on the young life is the same, this still raises the question as to whether someone who abandons a full-term baby to die in secret would be overly concerned about what Mr Karwig calls the ‘stigma’ of abortion.
