As the Hobbs factor begins to fade, Fine Gael needs to fill the void

WELL, well, maybe Eddie Hobbs didn’t have all the impact that some thought he had.

The results of the national opinion poll by Lansdowne Market Research, published in this newspaper in the last couple of days, seems to show that, in fact, the political implications of Eddie Hobbs’s dominance of television over the summer may be relatively contained.

Hobbs certainly gathered an audience; the viewing numbers confirm that.
