LAST Saturday was April 1, a fact I temporarily failed to take into account.

I was listening to RTÉ radio's weekly business programme and was taken aback (and I assume taken in) by a discussion on the fact that the GAA had decided to sell the naming rights on Croke Park to the highest bidder.

The presenter of the programme was John Murray and he and his guest, Robbie Kelleher (not just a stockbroker, but also a winner of three all-Ireland medals), were discussing the GAA's need to realise 'value added' from their greatest asset, Croke Park.
