From a new transport police, to smaller class sizes and the retention of the pension age, the draft programme for government gives voters an indication of the areas that will be priorities for politicians over the next five years.

But the 162-page document contains many measures that are watered-down versions of the pre-election promises put forward by Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Independents, with some manifesto plans completely left out.
