Government signs off on €24m redress package for families of Stardust victims

Families of victims had fought for 43 years for the truth of what had happened to their loved ones, culminating in the emotional scenes in Dublin in April when unlawful killing verdicts were delivered

The Government has signed off on a redress package of €24m for the families of the victims of the Stardust fire.

During an incorporeal cabinet meeting, which was reconvened on an extraordinary basis during the summer recess, the payment sum was approved.
