The Labour Party has selected first-time city councillor Laura Harmon to contest the next general election in Cork South Central.
Ms Harmon, who has a long track-record of campaigning on housing, education and equality, will be hoping to win back the seat held by former Labour TD Ciarán Lynch from 2007 to 2016.
