Israel has exceeded its limits of the use of force under international law in response to the Hamas attack, Tánaiste Micheál Martin has said.

In a Christmas message, the Fianna Fáil leader and Foreign Affairs Minister said this was demonstrated “by the unacceptably high civilian death toll and the massive destruction of property, including people's homes, throughout Gaza, the displacement of up to two million people, and the ensuing humanitarian crisis.”
