Cork weather and traffic: Rain to dominate day with highs of up to 19C

Highs of 16C to 19C are in store for the day before it starts to get cloudy with scattered showers later in the evening. 

Thursday will start off with outbreaks of rain, which will start to clear through the morning, bringing occasional sunny spells later in the day.

Isolated showers will dominate Thursday night, with more clear spells developing. Temperatures will sit between 10C and 13C. 

Friday will then start dry and bright with sunny spells before cloud starts to build in from the west through the evening. Highs of 16C to 18C are in store for the day. 

Rain will then come in on Friday night, before it becomes more widespread by the morning. It will turn heavy at times, with highs of 11C to 15C. 

Traffic

Road closures are currently in place on Gaol Walk and College Road, with traffic building up on Thursday morning. Local diversions are in place for the area. 

On the N28, traffic has started to build up as well by Rochestown as well. 

Outlook 

Saturday will be wet and blustery to start with widespread outbreaks of rain and fresh winds. Drier conditions will develop in the north through the afternoon, but the rain is likely to persist in the south for much of the day. Highs of 17C to 21C are expected. 

Rain will then start to clear from the south early on, leaving a dry night for most, with light showers and occasional clear spells. Lows of 11C to 15C are in for the night.

Sunday will be dry but cloudy for most, with the odd light shower; highs of 16C to 20C are expected. 

Looking into next week, Monday looks like to be a wet day with widespread outbreaks of rain, turning heavy at times. Highs of 17C to 21C are expected.
